What self-care techniques or activities do you do?
Yoga, cycling, running, long walks and anything in nature!
Throughout my journey becoming a certified yoga instructor, I found a desire to help guide others not only through a yoga class, but through their life journeys. I loved learning how much yoga, the mind-body connection, and holistic well-being by taking care of our health through nutrition, sleep, and exercise impacts our mental health. This knowledge guided my desire to become a therapist!
What are your specialties?
Mind-body connection, meditation, mindfulness, stress reduction/self soothing tools.
Why do you believe that counseling can help?
I believe it will help because it offers a space to be completely honest to oneself in a safe, comforting and empathetic environment.
Did you have a career before becoming a therapist?
I graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Psychology and Business and then decided to move to Chicago to work for an all women’s fitness start up company. Through self-exploration and growth, I found I wanted to pursue counseling psychology. I have recently completed my graduate program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology!
Why is it important to seek counseling?
I believe everyone should see a therapist as it is an amazing, safe space to explore ideas, symptoms and problems in your life with someone who is completely non-biased and will help you find your own answers.
