Andrea Watkins, LCSW

Andrea Watkins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in therapy with children (as young as 6 years old) and adolescents in individual and family settings with such topics of school-related stress, self-esteem issues, self-injury, GBLTQ needs, mood and anxiety disorders. Andrea also works with adults struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, stress management, parenting issues and relationship/family problems. She has worked in different settings such as DCFS, schools, crisis intervention programs and not-for-profit organizations. Andrea practices her therapy using solution-focused and strength-based approaches and strives to tailor-make each session directly to and for the needs of each unique client, using elements from CBT, experiential therapy and exposure therapy. It is not uncommon to see her working on artwork with her little ones, catching up on the latest Hollywood gossip with her teens, or using humor in order to create a warm, trusting and open environment for her clients. Andrea graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor in Social Welfare and Justice, continuing her studies at Loyola University Chicago, obtaining her Masters in Social Work.
