Hedy has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 1997 with over 22 years of clinical experience. Hedy has earned her Masters in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is bilingual (Spanish) and works with culturally diverse populations. Hedy works to build a trusting and caring relationship with her clients to facilitate wellness and emotional growth. Hedy has worked extensively with clients who are dealing with trauma/PTSD, depression, family and relationship issues, grief and loss. Hedy’s work is strength based using a client-centered approach and family systems model. Hedy uses art and play therapy as a safe a non -judgmental therapeutic approach is which to reach the clients goals. She has very specialized skills that benefit survivors of trauma, families, couples, children and adolescents as well as groups. Hedy has trained school administrators, teachers, volunteers and parents extensively in the Response To Interventions Procedures and the Functional Analysis of Behavior. Hedy has worked with behavioral issues, attention deficit disorder, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship problems and communication needs.
