Join us in celebrating all things HOPE on Saturday May 2nd, 2015 at the Chicago Conservatory next to the Lincoln Park Zoo. We have a great lineup of speakers sharing what their organizations are doing to #planthope in Chicago and around the world. Best of all, it is FREE!
9:00 – 9:15 – Speakers
9:15 – 10:00 – Planting seeds and sharing hope
10:00 – 10:45 – Free yoga (bring mats if desired)
We will distribute seeds that each of you can plant in honor of someone you know impacted by depression, and also take home to plant in your own yard. We then offer a free yoga class in the park.
This is a day to share your support and help us raise awareness for depression treatment. With over 350 million people worldwide affected by the disease and the vast majority not seeking help due to stigma, it is time we joined hands in solidarity to #planthope.
The good news is there is HOPE. Depression is treatable.
And it is easy to get involved to help #shinelight #endstigma.
Ways to engage (other than attending in person):
– Plant sunflowers! Plant one, plant a garden, get friends and community involved and celebrate HOPE together. Sunflowers serve as a positive symbol and reminder to always have hope.
– Wear yellow. Yellow is the color of the joy and happiness we feel when depression is successfully treated.
– Share, Share, Share. Post, tweet, or share a photo on social media. – Shine your light and use the hashtag #HOPE2015 and be sure to tag @ifredorg
Thank you for helping us shine a positive light on #depression for #hope2015
