- Julie McGonigal is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a strong interest in issues related to grief and loss. She received her B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California and has a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The Family Institute at Northwestern University. Through her work with NorthShore University Healthsystem’s Perinatal Family Support Center, Julie has supported countless individuals and couples surrounding issues that relate to pregnancy and health, including: pre-term delivery, pregnancy loss, options counseling, fetal anomaly, and postpartum mood issues. She also has experience working with individuals and families related to relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to parenting. Julie strongly believes that anyone can benefit from therapy, and strives to employ warmth, creativity, curiosity, and a sense of humor in her work with clients.
