Meredith Simpson, LCPC

Bio
Meredith Simpson is a graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelors in psychology and spanish and a graduate from Marywood University with a Masters in clinical psychology. She is a nationally certified psychologist and a licensed clinical professional counselor. Her work in the field began almost 10 years ago with children and adolescents suffering from mood disorders, behavioral problems, and histories of trauma. Her more recent experience has involved treating adult clients with chronic mental illness followed by extensive work with substance dependence and associated concerns. She has treated a wide array of clinical presentations within the spectrum of mood, anxiety, and personality disorders but specializes in problems originating in trauma or a lack of self acceptance. Her eclectic therapeutic approach is tailored to the needs of the individual. She believes strongly in client centered theory and draws from the existential, cognitive, and experiential movements as needed. She adheres to the concept that good therapy helps the client better understand themselves, their feelings, and their behaviors; that this insight leads to a better understanding of the presenting problem and thus the best course of action; and that a good therapeutic relationship provides the stage to begin enacting said changes.
Urban Balance prioritizes the safety of our clients and staff and will provide teletherapy counseling services.
