What self-care techniques or activities do you do?
Indoor and outdoor gardening, mindfulness and meditation exercises, yoga, long walks, dancing, singing, listening to music.
Through addressing my own mental health needs as a young adult, I worked with several wonderful therapists who inspired me to go into the field.
What are your specialties?
Trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
Why do you believe that counseling can help?
It helps us understand and accept ourselves in this life so that we can live and love with more honesty and less shame.
Did you have a career before becoming a therapist?
Animal rescue at Chicago Canine Rescue.
Why is it important to seek counseling?
Sometimes our problems are bigger than we can handle, and an unbiased and non-judgmental perspective can help us get un-stuck.
