Dr. Anastasia Maravelias believes it takes courage and drive to seek therapy. She is dedicated to building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship and using this relationship to foster change. She is passionate about helping others achieve personal goals and feel more fulfilled in their lives.
Dr. Maravelias works across the lifespan with children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes an integrative approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her approach emphasizes both past and present experiences, the importance of interpersonal and relational processes, and uses solution-focused techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness to help provide more immediate relief. Dr. Maravelias also provides psychological assessment services for a variety of diagnostic questions to clarify diagnosis and provide helpful recommendations.
Dr. Maravelias earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from DePaul University and a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. She has gained experience in a multitude of settings including community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, educational settings, and group practices working with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, relational struggles, trauma, and individuals navigating life transitions.
