Angela Paviglianiti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works across cultures to support adults, adolescents, children and families in creating lives of fullness and satisfaction. Angela has partnered with members of the international community in processing and transforming trauma related to domestic violence, sexual abuse, and migration. She has also been consistently enriched by her work with emerging adults, addressing concerns including wellbeing, sexuality and sexual expression, gender and racial bias, and long-term lifestyle and career choices. Angela integrates a psychodynamic approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy based interventions, promoting clients’ agencies in shifting their life narratives. Additionally, she acknowledges the role of faith and spirituality as a both a protective and restorative factor. Dependent upon a client’s interest and comfort, she will support the incorporation of mindfulness meditation, prayer, and/or other spiritual practices into one’s plan of care.
She partners with clients to identify the strengths and resources found within self, relationships, and community, and journeying with them through whatever confronts them to a place of empowerment. In addition to working with anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions and relationship issues, Angela has experience working with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant and Conduct Disorders. Angela completed a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Michigan, a Master’s of Divinity at the Catholic Theological Union, and a Master’s of Women’s Studies at York University.
