Angela Sourounis is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who received her Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Angela has clinical experience working with adults and adolescents with a wide range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety disorders, relationship conflicts, family of origin issues, life/work stressors, life transitions, grief/loss, self-esteem, body image issues and eating disorders (Binge Eating Disorder and emotional eating).
Angela believes in the resiliency and strength of an individual in overcoming their pain and suffering. Her mission is to provide appropriate guidance and help through this journey of healing and recovery, tailoring her treatment style specific to the client’s individual needs.
Angela primarily utilizes evidenced based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), while also drawing upon mindfulness-based approaches and techniques.
Angela strives to provide a safe, nonjudgmental and supportive space. She works collaboratively with her clients to empower and assist them in actualizing their full potential. Clients will be encouraged and supported to explore their challenges, identify and modify behaviors and thinking patterns that perpetuate distress, learn coping skills, and increase their self-awareness to ultimately work towards achieving personal growth and meaningful change.
