Gary DeLeonardis is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience working with young adults and adults specializing in family & relationship issues, trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
Gary believes in the importance of a collaborative client-therapist relationship that focuses on working toward client goals and is supported by empathy, respect, and trust. His approach encourages insight, self-awareness, and exploring new ways to connect with yourself and others.
While being attentive to client needs, Gary works primarily from a psychodynamic approach and integrates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Gary earned his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and received his bachelor’s degree in Communication from DePaul University. Gary is also an adjunct professor at National Louis University where he teaches undergraduate psychology and general studies.
