Jack Henderson has a long and distinguished record of public and volunteer service beginning at age 16 when he became a certified nurses’ aide, helping nursing home patients as well as those in hospital settings. Working his way through high school and college in that capacity and eventually graduating with a B.S. in Speech with Honors from Lamar University,  he then moved to Denver, Colorado where he graduated from the Iliff School of Theology to fulfill his mission as an ordained United Methodist minister.

In 1982, Jack and his family moved back to Texas to serve local churches as a pastor and to serve as a chaplain in hospitals and nursing homes. After 12 years of ministry, Jack entered graduate school again to complete his second Master’s degree in Counseling from Texas A & M University. He went on in the State of Texas to become triple licensed in the practice of professional counseling (LPC-S) and supervision, marriage and family therapy (LMFT-S) and supervision, and chemical dependency counseling (LCDC).

His clinical specialties include depression and bipolar disorders, stress, distress, and PTSD, unresolved grief and loss, addictions counseling, pastoral counseling, and helping clients find meaning and purpose in pain and suffering. He is also board certified in clinical hypnosis, which he uses in helping clients learn relaxation techniques for dealing with a multitude of psychological and physical maladies. He has just graduated from the Graduate Theological Foundation In Oklahoma City with his Doctor of Psychology in Pastoral Psychology. He continues to expand his array of experience by now beginning training to become a board certified sex therapist and educator. He should receive final certification by December, 2022.
