Jacob Borge (He/Him) is a Clinical Intern, earning a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Jacob is passionate about working with people to help them find their happiness and peace. He believes one’s personal experience is important, and he seeks to connect with each person based on their own unique background and where they are in their life. To best assist clients and address their concerns, Jacob uses an integrative and interdisciplinary style that applies various approaches as no two situations, individuals, or solutions are ever the same.
Jacob also utilizes a holistic view of health that supports mindfulness, balance, and the well-being of the whole person. Regardless of the issue or concern, he believes in the client’s strength and inherent ability, and that therapy is a collaborative journey. All humans struggle with their feelings, and it is a sign of strength and intelligence to know when to seek support. Jacob is also a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ affirming individual, and he strives to hold space for each client’s unique narrative and intersectional self. Jacob is a creative, open-minded, and empathetic advocate for others. Spiritual, religious, and societal aspects of life are often meaningful to clients as well; Jacob endeavors to acknowledge and understand these aspects, and any other elements that are significant.
Outside of the office, Jacob enjoys playing basketball, visiting new restaurants, listening to music, and exploring the city of Chicago.
