Joanna Bakowska is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed her Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Joanna helps adults and couples. She applies creative and collaborative approaches to counseling with an emphasis on the client’s personal therapy goals. To address the goals and needs of each client, she includes components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. She has a compassionate and genuine interest in each client’s situation and believes in creating a trusting, warm and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. Joanna often integrates spirituality into her therapeutic work with clients who embrace spirituality as a part of their lifestyle.
Joanna’s areas of clinical interest include assisting those experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, life transitions, and work/life balance, as well as those seeking support and insight into uncertain or insecure attachments in interpersonal and romantic relationships. She helps couples move from gridlock to dialogue, uncover the roots of their perpetual issues, and improve their communication.
