Maria Camara is a Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Mrs. Camara is a highly experienced Social Worker with a strong background working with families, students, couples and at-risk individuals. She is skilled in providing individual, couples and group therapy in support of crisis intervention, conflict mediation, addiction counseling and case management.
Mrs. Camara has extensive experience working with children in various mental health and educational settings, particularly at-risk and low SES children and families. Her counseling areas of interest are aligned with the topic of focus in her Phd program: Mental Health Needs and Support in Special Education. She is passionate about helping children and families build tools that will guide them in modifying behaviors and improving their quality of life.
Mrs. Camara also has years of experience providing counseling to individuals of all ages, supporting individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges who are living independently or in a family system, helping clients maintain a psychosocial support system, helping clients with skill building, and promoting adherence to mental health treatment plans.
