Shana Sexton, LCSW
Chicago – Evanston
Shana Sexton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who sees individuals (children, teens and adults), couples and families.
Her approach to therapy, which blends cognitive behavioral and expressive methods, emphasizes meeting clients where they are and building strong therapeutic alliances. Her extensive experience with cognitive behavioral therapy includes graduate study at Washington University in Saint Louis as well as clinical experience in the mental health field, dating back to 2003. She strongly believes in the healing benefits of expressive methods, such as art, sand tray and play therapy, especially for clients who may find it challenging to talk about emotionally charged issues. Shana’s clinical interests include helping clients to cope with trauma, improve family relationships and manage difficult life transitions. She also has past experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, and their families.
