Susan Schwendener is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children/adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is experienced in working with individuals and families in crisis using strengths-based, solution-focused counseling interventions.
Sue’s first objective is to provide a non-judgmental and safe place where clients can focus on concerns ranging from relationship and life transitions to career and workplace issues. She has post-graduate training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for mood and anxiety issues at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Pennsylvania and is a proponent of Positive Psychology, which concentrates on helping people flourish instead of focusing on mental illnesses. Sue is also a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a Gottman Institute Seven Principles Program Leader. Sue practices mindfulness meditation and loves to cycle, run, and create art.
