Urban Balance recently donated funds to Imerman Angels, an organization that provides personalized one-on-one cancer support for cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. Founded in 2003, Imerman Angels was created on the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone and without the necessary support.
They have a unique matching process, that partners anyone seeking cancer support with someone just like them — called a “Mentor Angel”. A Mentor Angel is a cancer survivor or caregiver who is the same age, same gender, and most importantly who has faced the same type of cancer. Mentor Angels can lend support and empathy and help cancer fighters and caregivers navigate the system, determine their options and create their own support systems.
Their service is free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
Our CEO and Founder Joyce Marter recently attended their annual Blue & White Party fundraiser. The event was a huge success, raising nearly $60,000 which will help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
