What self-care techniques or activities do you do?

Exercising, reading, and sewing.

What made you become a therapist?

I have always been interested in human behavior. That interest led to a psychology major in college and grad school in counseling followed. I find people fascinating and have always had a strong drive to help and improve the human condition.

What are your specialties?

Anxiety disorders, depression, and working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health and family challenges (including working with high risk children).

Why do you believe that counseling can help?

I believe in the ability for individuals to alter behavior, and counseling can provide a helpful framework for that to happen.

Did you have a career before becoming a therapist?

I taught psychology at a community college for 25 years.

Why is it important to seek counseling?

Counseling can help the client gain a new perspective, understand how history has affected their development, and provide coping skills for difficult situations. The alleviation of pain and discomfort can be of tremendous benefit to the client.

We are now accepting new clients for telehealth or in-person therapy sessions! Please give us a call (888) 726-7170 or email intake@urbanbalance.com to schedule an appointment today!
